Another place to find more information on potential funders is through Federal 990 tax forms. These forms provide information on funder assets, expenditures, grantmaking, and board members. You can also search for information on the web. Use quotation marks to search for phrases that must be found in an exact word order (“charter school grants”), plus signs for words that must be contained on retrieved pages (+Massachusettes), and asterisks for word stems (grant*) to help refine your search.
Are there other sites with information on grant writing? Grants.gov is a centralized, online process to find, and apply for, over 900 grant programs from the 26 federal grant-making agencies.
