Title I - $13 Billion

ARRA provides significant new funding for programs under Title I:

    • $10B - Title I, Part A Funding - 50% made available immediately, and 50% after the secretary approves state plan amendments on recordkeeping and reporting requirements
    • $3B - School Improvement Grants - priority to be given to local districts serving the lowest-achieving schools, demonstrating the greatest need for the funds, or exhibiting a strong commitment to use the funds to help them achieve their school improvement goals
